লোকসভা নির্বাচনের আগে ভারতের অর্থনীতি উর্ধ্বমুখী। এই সাফল্যকে হাতিয়ার করেই ভোটপ্রচার করতে পারে মোদী-শাহরা। কারণ ২০২৩-২৪ অর্থবর্ষে আর্থিক দিক থেকে দক্ষিণ এশিয়া ৬ শতাংশ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। যার মধ্যে ভারতের অবদান অত্যন্ত তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ। এমনটাই দাবি বিশ্ব ব্যাঙ্কের (World Bank)। ভারতের জিডিপি ২৩-২৪ এ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে ৭.৫ শতাংশ, এমনটা মনে করছে বিশ্ব ব্যাঙ্ক। যদিও বছরের মাঝামাঝি সময় এই শতাংশটি কমে এসে দাঁড়াবে ৬.৬ শতাংশে। এদিকে ভারতের প্রতিবেশী দেশগুলির মধ্যে বাংলাদেশের আর্থিক অবস্থা বাকি দেশগুলির থেকে অনেকটাই ভালো। পাকিস্তানে ২.৩ শতাংশ, শ্রীলঙ্কার ২.৫ এবং বাংলাদেশের ৫.৭ শতাংশ।
