সারা বিশ্বে হাজার হাজার কর্মী ছাঁটাই পন্থা ২০২৩ সাল পর্যন্ত অব্যাহত। তালিকায় বাদ পড়েনি বড় বড় কোম্পানিও। ছাঁটাই মূলত প্রযুক্তি খাতের ওপর প্রভাব ফেলেছে, যা এখন মহামারীর সময় যে কোনো সময়ের চেয়ে দ্রুত হারে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। কোভিড মহামারী শুরু হওয়ার পর থেকে সারা বিশ্বে কর্মী ছাঁটাই চলছে। শুধু ২০২২ সালেই টেক কোম্পানিগুলো দেড় লাখের বেশি কর্মী ছাঁটাই করেছে আমেরিকা। এর আগের বছর ছিল ৮০ হাজার কর্মী। আর ২০২১ সালে ১৫ হাজার কর্মী ছাঁটাই হয়েছে। এখন এসেছে আরও ভয়াবহ খবর, World Economic Forum জানিয়েছে, ২০২৭ সালের মধ্যে চাকরি হারাতে পারে বিশ্বব্যাপী ১৪ মিলিয়ন মানুষ।
