India's deep-ocean expedition: গভীর মহাসাগর অভিযানের অঙ্গ হিসাবে প্রথম মানব চালিত ডুবোযান নামতে চলেছে জলে, জানালেন বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রী ডঃ জীতেন্দ্র সিং
ভারতের গভীর মহাসাগর অভিযানের অঙ্গ হিসাবে প্রথম মানব চালিত ডুবোযান বা সাবমার্শিবল জলে নামতে চলেছে। এই যানটি সমুদ্রের ৫০০ মিটার গভীরতায় প্রাথমিকভাবে পৌঁছলেও পরবর্তীকালে সেটিকে ৬ হাজার মিটার পর্যন্ত নামানোর পরিকল্পনা করা হয়েছে বলে বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রী ডঃ জীতেন্দ্র সিং জানিয়েছেন।নতুনদিল্লীর পৃথ্বী ভবনে মিশন এর স্টিয়ারিং কমিটির বৈঠকের পর শ্রী সিং একথা ঘোষণা করেন। গভীর মহাসাগর মিশনের লক্ষ্য হল জলের নীচে সম্পদ অনুসন্ধান, সমুদ্রের তলদেশে বাস্তুতন্ত্র সম্পর্কে আরো তথ্য সংগ্রহ এবং ভারতের ব্লু ইকোনমি বা সমুদ্র অর্থনীতিকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া।মিশনের উদ্দেশ্যগুলির মধ্যে রয়েছে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ খনিজ, বিরল ধাতু এবং অনাবিষ্কৃত সামুদ্রিক জীববৈচিত্র্যকেও চিহ্নিত করা।
