Chithirai festival 2023: ভগবান কাল্লাঝাগরের নদী প্রবেশ দেখতে ভাইগাই নদীর কাছে লাখো লাখো ভক্তদের ভিড়( দেখুন ভিডিও)

তামিল নাড়ুর মাদুরাই রাজ্যের সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্র। মাদুরাইয়ের অন্যতম প্রধান উৎসব ‘চিথিরাই’।'চিথিরাই উৎসব'কে বলা হয় উৎসবের উৎসব। দক্ষিণের রাজ্যগুলি থেকে প্রায় ৫ লক্ষেরও বেশি মানুষ সমাগত হন মাদুরাইতে। চিথিরাই উৎসব একই সঙ্গে শৈব এবং বৈষ্ণব সম্প্রদায়ের উৎসব। সুন্দরেশ্বর আর দেবী মীনাক্ষীর বিবাহ উপলক্ষে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় চিথিরাই উৎসব। বিবাহের এই রেওয়াজ চলছে বহুকাল ধরে। প্রাচীন সঙ্গম সাহিত্যে এই উৎসবের কথা উল্লেখ রয়েছে। এই মন্দিরের মীনাক্ষী হলেন পার্বতী ও সুন্দরেশ্বর হলেন শিব। আর তাদের স্বর্গীয় বিবাহ অনুষ্ঠানকেই 'চিথিরাই উৎসব' বলে।রাজা থিরুমালাই থেনুরের বদলে মাদুরাইয়ের ভাইগাই-এর তীরে কাল্লাঝাগর ভ্রমণের প্রচলন করেছিলেন। সেই প্রথা মেনে মাদুরাইতে এই চিথিরাই উৎসবের অংশ হিসেবে ভগবান কাল্লাঝাগরকে নদীতে স্নান করানো হয়। এই নদী প্রবেশের সাক্ষী হতে ভাইগাই নদীর কাছে  লাখো লাখো ভক্তরা  জড়ো হয়েছিলেন। তারই এক ঝলক -
