হিংস্র নামডাক তার। এলাকায় ৬ জনকে হত্যা এবং প্রায় ৩০০ টি বাড়ি ভাঙার অভিযোগ রয়েছে তার বিরুদ্ধে। সেই আর কেই নয় তামিলনাড়ুর দুষ্টু হাতি আরিকোম্বান। আর সেই হাতিকেই এবার সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া হল ১১০ কিমি দূরে। এর আগে তামিলনাড়ুর ইদুক্কিতে ছিল তার বাসস্থান। তবে দিন প্রতিদিন বেপরোয়া হয়ে যাওয়ার কারনে তাকে সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়।
পেরিয়ার ব্যাঘ্র সংরক্ষণ প্রকল্পের মনগালাদেবী অরণ্যে নিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে তাকে।

The elephant, which has killed around six people and destroyed more than 300 houses in the Chinnakanal area, was relocated exactly a week ago on April 29.
