ডিম্বাশয়ের ক্যান্সার ধরা পড়া মহিলার যদি তাঁর জরায়ু অপসারণ করেন, তাহলে তা তবে স্বামীর প্রতি মানসিক নিষ্ঠুরতা হিসাবে বিবেচিত হতে পারে না। ক্যানসার নিরাময়ের স্বার্থে জরায়ু অপসারণ করার অর্থ স্বামীর প্রতি স্ত্রীর নিষ্ঠুরতা হিসেবে কোনওভাবেই বিবেচিত হতে পারে না। এমনই পর্যবেক্ষণ প্রকাশ করল মাদ্রাজ হাইকোর্ট (Madras HC)। বিচারপতি আর এমটি তিকা রমন, বিচারপতি পিবি বালাজির বেঞ্চ পারিবারিক আদালতের আদেশ বহাল রাখার কথা মনে করেন। পাশাপাশি পারিবারিক আদালতের যে পর্যবেক্ষণ রয়েছে, তাতে বিয়ে ভাঙার জন্য স্বামী যে আবেদন করেন, তা খারিজ করা হয় বলে খবর।
