আমেঠি (Amethi) থেকে এবার ফের কংগ্রেসের বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দাগলেন বিজেপির স্মৃতি ইরানি (Smriti Irani)। আমেঠিতে প্রচারে গিয়ে স্মৃতি বলেন, "আমার দুঃখ হয় যে, সাধু, সনাতনীদের জায়গা এই আমেঠি, যেখানেকার মানুষ কত ত্যাগ স্বীকার করেছেন। সে ১৮৫৭ সালের যুদ্ধ হোক কিংবা স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম, প্রত্যেক ক্ষেত্রে এই অঞ্চলের মানুষ ত্যাগ স্বীকার করেছেন। অথচ, এই অঞ্চলে এমন একজন নেতা ছিলেন, যিনি ভারতকে টুকরো টুকরো করার স্লোগানকেও সমর্থন করেছিলেন। অর্থাৎ নাম না করেই আমেঠি থেকে ফের রাহুল গান্ধীকে (Rahul Gandhi) আক্রমণ করেন স্মৃতি ইরানি।
