তিনি দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধে বিমান চালিয়ে শত্রুদের হাত থেকে বাঁচিয়েছেন। হ্যারিকেন, টর্নেডোর মত প্রাকৃতিক বিপর্যয়ের উদ্ধার কাজে বড় ভূমিকা নিয়েছিলেন। ভারতীয় বায়ুসেনার ওয়ারিয়র স্কোয়ার্ডন প্রাক্তন প্রধান দিলীপ সিং মাজিথিয়া ১০৩ বছর বয়েসে প্রয়াত হলেন। তাঁর নামের পাশে এক হাজার ১০০ ঘণ্টা বিমান চালানোর অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল।
মঙ্গলবার উত্তরাখণ্ডের রুদ্রুপের তিনি মারা যান। সহকর্মীরা দিলীপ-কে ডাকতেন মাজি নামে। ১৯২১ সালে জন্মানো দিলীপ সিং মাজিথিয়া-কে অকুতোভয় বিমান চালাক নামেই সবাই চিনতেন।
