গত প্রায় ৬ বছরের মধ্যে পৃথিবী একটি শক্তিশালী সৌর ঝড়ের সম্মুখীন হয়েছে বলে জানাল আমেরিকার ন্যাশনাল ওসানিক ও অ্যাটমোস্ফিয়ার অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশন।
নিউইয়র্ক: ২০২৩ সাল সম্পর্কে বুলগেরিয়ার বাসিন্দা বাবা ভাঙ্গা যা বলে গিয়েছিলেন তা যেন মিলে যাচ্ছে! নতুন বছর শুরু হওয়ার পর থেকে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় যেভাবে ভূমিকম্প হচ্ছে তাতে এখনও পর্যন্ত প্রচুর মানুষের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। আর এবার গত প্রায় ৬ বছরের মধ্যে পৃথিবী (Earth) একটি শক্তিশালী সৌর ঝড়ের (powerful solar storm) সম্মুখীন হয়েছে বলে জানাল আমেরিকার (USA) ন্যাশনাল ওসানিক ও অ্যাটমোস্ফিয়ার অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশন (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)। এর ফলে পুরো আমেরিকাজুড়ে মেরুপ্রভা (auroras) দেখা গেছে বলেও জানিয়েছে তারা।

প্রসঙ্গত উল্লেখ্য, কিছুদিন আগেই ন্যাশনাল ওসানিক ও অ্যাটমোস্ফিয়ার অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশনের তরফে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছিল যে ২৩ থেকে ২৫ মার্চের মধ্যে মাঝারি মাপের জি ২ (G2 storm) ও জি ৩ (G2 storm) ঝড় হবে। পরে সংস্থার তরফে জানানো হয়, জি ৪ মাত্রার (magnitude G4) ভূ-চৌম্বকীয় ঝড়ের (geomagnetic storm) সাক্ষী (witnessed) হবে পৃথিবী। আরও পড়ুন: পঞ্জাবে ইন্টারনেট বন্ধ নিয়ে কানাডায় শিখ সাংসদের প্রশ্ন বিদেশ মন্ত্রী মেলানি জলিকে
NOAA had earlier announced moderate G2 storm and G3 conditions between March 23 and 25.
However, the Earth witnessed a geomagnetic storm of magnitude G4, causing the #NOAA to update its warning.
