পরপর শক্তিশালী ভূমিকম্পে বিধ্বস্ত তুরস্ক (Turkey)। ভারতে (India) নিয়োজিত তুরস্কের অ্যাম্বাসাডার বলেন, প্রথমে ৭.৭, তারপর ৭.৬ মাত্রার কম্পনে তুরস্ক কার্যত ধ্বংসের রূপ নিয়েছে। কয়েক ঘণ্টার মধ্যে পরপর কম্পনের (Earthquake) জেরে তুরস্কে প্রায় ১৪ মিলিয়ন মানুষ ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ বলে জানান সে দেশের অ্যাম্বাসাডার। পরপর ভূমিকম্পের জেরে তুরস্কে প্রায় ২১,১০৩ জন আহত বলে জানা যাচ্ছে। সোমবার থেকে পরপর কম্পনের জেরে তুরস্কে কমপক্ষে ৬ হাজার বাড়ি ভেঙে পড়েছে। সেই সঙ্গে পরপর ৩টি বিমানবন্দর ভেঙে পড়েছে বলে খবর।সবকিছু মিলিয়ে তুরস্কে এ যাবৎকালের সবচেয়ে বড় বিপর্যয় নেমে আসে সোমবার। প্রসঙ্গত মঙ্গলবারও চতুর্থ এবং পঞ্চমবারের জন্য কেঁপে ওঠে তুরস্ক। ফলে মৃতের সংখ্যা শেষ পর্যন্ত কততে পৌঁছবে, সে বিষয়ে তৈরি হয়েছে আশঙ্কা।
