Qatar Court: কাতারে আট ভারতীয় প্রাক্তন নৌ বাহিনী কর্তার মৃত্যুদণ্ড বাতিলের আবেদন খারিজ
ইজরায়েলের হয়ে চরবৃত্তি করার অভিযোগে আটজন ভারতীয় প্রাক্তন নৌসেনা কর্তার মৃত্যুদণ্ডের সাজা দিয়েছিল কাতারের এক আদালত।
ইজরায়েলের হয়ে চরবৃত্তি করার অভিযোগে আটজন ভারতীয় প্রাক্তন নৌসেনা কর্তার মৃত্যুদণ্ডের সাজা দিয়েছিল কাতারের এক আদালত। সেই সাজা বাতিলের দাবিতে আদালতে চ্যালেঞ্জ জানিয়ে মামলা করে ভারত সরকার। কিন্তু চরবৃত্তির মত গুরুতর অভিযোগে প্রাণদণ্ড ছাড়া আর কোনও সাজা হতে পারে না বলে কাতারের আদালত সাফ জানিয়ে দিল।
তবে এই শাস্তির বিরুদ্ধে আরও একবার আবেদনের সুযোগ পাবে ভারত। তবে যেভাবে এদিন প্রাণদণ্ড বাতিল করতে ভারতের আবেদন খারিজ হল, তাতে কাতারের আদালতের রায় নিয়ে খুশির খবর পাওয়ার সম্ভাবনা সেভাবে থাকছে না।
