গর্ভপাতকে সাংবিধানিক অধিকার হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দিচ্ছে ফ্রান্স (France)। এবার গর্ভপাতকে সরকারি স্বীকৃতি দিচ্ছে ইউরোপের এই দেশ। নিজেদের সংববিধানে গর্ভপাতের আইনকে সংযুক্ত করছে ফ্রান্স। ইউরোপের এই দেশের সিদ্ধান্তকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছে বহু নারীবাদি সংগঠন। তবে গর্ভপাত বিরোধী গোষ্ঠীগুলি নয়া এই আইন নিয়ে জোরদার সমালোচনা শুরু করেছে। গর্ভপাতকে সাংবিধানিক অধিকার দেওয়া নিয়ে ফ্রান্সের সংসদের ২ কক্ষে বিশেষ যৌথ ভোট হয় সম্প্রতি। প্যারিসের বাইরে, ভার্সাই প্রাসাদে সংসদের দুই কক্ষের বিশেষ যৌথ ভোট সম্পন্ন হয়। যেখানে গর্ভপাতকে (Abortion ) সাংবিধানিক অধিকারের মর্যাদা দেওয়ার পক্ষে ৭৮০ ভোট পড়ে। অন্যদিকে এই সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে ভোট দেন ৭২ জন।
