Mehul Choksi: বেলজিয়ামে মেহুল চোকসির বিরুদ্ধে রায় দিল আদালত, তারপরেও ভারতে ফেরানো নিয়ে রয়েছে বড় বাধা
চলতি বছরেই বেলজিয়ামে আটক করা হয়েছিল পলাতক হীরে ব্যবসায়ী মেহুল চোকসিকে। তারপরেই তাঁকে ভারতে নিয়ে আসা নিয়ে আসা নিয়ে সক্রিয় হয়ছিল সরকার।
চলতি বছরেই বেলজিয়ামে আটক করা হয়েছিল পলাতক হীরে ব্যবসায়ী মেহুল চোকসিকে (Mehul Choksi)। তারপরেই তাঁকে ভারতে নিয়ে আসা নিয়ে আসা নিয়ে সক্রিয় হয়ছিল সরকার। যদিও এরমাঝে একাধিকবার জামিনের আবেদন তিনি করেছিল, কিন্তু প্রতিবারই তা খারিজ হয়ে যায়। এরমাঝেই শুক্রবার অ্যান্টওয়ারপের আদালতে ছিল তাঁর মামলার শুনানি। এই মামলায় চোকসির গ্রেফতারির মধ্যে কোনও ভুল খুঁজে পায়নি বলে রায় দিয়েছে আদালত। ফলে তাঁকে ভারতে প্রত্যার্পণ করার নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে। তবে সে চাইলে উচ্চতর আদালতে এই রায়কে চ্যালেঞ্জ জানিয়ে আবেদন করতে পারে। সেথানে যদি প্রত্যা্র্পণে বাধা আসে, তাহলে ফের ভারত সরকারের হাত থেকে ফসকে যেতে চলেছে মেহুল চোকসি।
