দুর্গাপুর গণধর্ষণকাণ্ড (Durgapur Gang Rape) নিয়ে রাজ্যের পাশাপাশি গোটা দেশ জুড়েও তোলপাড় শুরু হয়েছে। দুর্গাপুরকাণ্ডের বিরুদ্ধে রাজ্য জুড়ে যখন তোলপাড় শুরু হয়েছে, সেই সময় মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দাগলেন শুভেন্দু অধিকারী (Suvendu Adhikari)।
রাজ্যের বিরোধী দলনেতার অভিযোগ, 'ধর্ষকদের রক্ষাকর্তা হল মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সরকার'। দুর্গাপুরকাণ্ডে যাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে, সেই ব্যক্তি দুর্গাপুর পুর নিগমের কনট্রাকচুয়াল কর্মী। শুধু তাই নয়, ধৃত তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের একজন যুবনেতা বলেও অভিযোগ করেন শুভেন্দু অধিকারী।
