ঘূর্ণিঝড়(Cyclone) রেমালের (Remal) দাপটে কার্যত লণ্ডভণ্ড পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বহু অংশ। রেমালের জেরে উপকূলবর্তী পশ্চিমবঙ্গে বিশেষ করে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরে কড়া সতর্কতা জারি করা হয়েছে প্রশাসনের তরফে। সেই সঙ্গে চলছে প্রশাসনের নজরদারি। কেউ যাতে সমুদ্রের আশপাশে না যান, সে বিষয়ে মাইকিং করে সতর্ক করা হচ্ছে দিঘায় থাকা মানুষকে। সেই সঙ্গে পর্যটকদেরও সমুদ্র সৈকতের আশপাশ থেকে সরানো হচ্ছে। তবে রেমালের দাপটে দিঘার বিভিন্ন এলাকায় গাছ ভেঙে পড়তে শুরু করে। সেই সঙ্গে রাস্তার উপর গাছ ভেঙে পড়ে, ফলে সাধারণ জনজীবন বিপন্ন হতে শুরু করে রবিবার থেকেই।
