বামেদের সঙ্গে জোট এখনও সরকারীভাবে ঘোষণা হয়নি। বামেরা ইতিমধ্যেই ১৬টি লোকসভা আসনে প্রার্থী ঘোষণা করেছে। এবার বাংলায় ১০-১২টি লোকসভা আসনে প্রার্থী ঘোষণা করতে চলেছে কংগ্রেস। আগামিকাল, সোমবার বাংলায় কংগ্রেসের প্রার্থী তালিকায় কিছু চমক থাকতে পারে বলে জল্পনা। বাংলার তালিকায় সবার আগেই থাকতে চলছে, বহরমপুরের সাংসদ অধীর রঞ্জন চৌধুরীর নামটা।
মুর্শিদাবাদ, জঙ্গিপুর, মালদার দুটি কেন্দ্র, পুরুলিয়া-র মত আসনে প্রার্থীদের নাম ঘোষণা করতে পারে কংগ্রেস। দার্জিলিং আসন নিয়ে এখনও চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত নেননি হাত শিবির। নদিয়া, উত্তর ২৪ পরগণায় প্রার্থী হতে চেয়ে কংগ্রেসের কাছে কিছু আবেদন জমা পড়েছিল বলে খবর।
বামেরা দক্ষিণ কলকাতা, যাদবপুর, রায়গঞ্জ, তমলুক, মেদিনীপুর, হুগলি, আসানসোল সহ বাংলার ১৬টি লোকসভা আসনে প্রার্থী ঘোষণা করেছে।
