কোভিড আক্রান্তকে ফেরৎ নিতে চায়নি পরিবার। যার জেরে রাস্তায় পড়ে থেকেই মৃত্যু হয় শিলিগুড়ির এক ব্যক্তির। যে খবর পেয়ে সেখানে হাজির হয় স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংগঠন। ওই সংগঠনে সদস্যরাই এরপর ওই ব্যক্তির শেষকৃত্য সম্পন্ন করেন। স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংগঠনের কথায়, গত ১১ ঘণ্টা ধরে ওই ব্যক্তি শিলিগুড়ির রাস্তায় পড়েছিলেন। তাঁরা খবর পেয়ে, সেখানে হাজির হন অ্যাম্বুলেন্স নিয়ে কিন্তু শেষরক্ষা করতে পারেননি।
"He had contracted the COVID but he recovered. He was suffering from respiratory issues. When we got information, we reached the spot with an oxygen cylinder & ambulance.
