Cell Service From Space: এবার সরাসরি মহাকাশ থেকে কল করা যাবে মোবাইলে ফোনে, মহাকাশে বসছে সেল টাওয়ার

"হ্যালো, পৃথিবী! সরাসরি মহাকাশ থেকে বলছি।" এবার মহাকাশ থেকে সরাসরি পৃথিবীর যে কোনও প্রান্তে ফোন করুন। মহাকাশে বসেছে, মোবাইলের টাওয়ার। সৌজন্যে দুনিয়ার ধনীতম ব্যক্তি ইলন মাস্ক। মাস্কের কোম্পানি স্টার লিঙ্কের মাধ্যমে সরাসরি পৃথিবীর যে কোনও মোবাইল ফোনে কল করা যাবে। দিন তিনেকের মধ্যেই মহাকাশ থেকে মোবাইল ফোনের বেটা ভার্সন বা টেস্টিংয়ের কাজ শুরু হচ্ছে।  মহাকাশ থেকে সরাসরি ফোনটা আসতে চলেছে স্পেস এক্সের অফিসে।

পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন মাধ্যমে ইন্টারনেট সংযোগের কোম্পানি ইলন মাস্কের 'স্টার লিঙ্ক'-এর পরিকাঠামোগত উন্নয়ন ঘটাচ্ছে। আর এবারের স্পেস এক্সের অত্যাধুনিক স্যাটেলাইট আপগ্রেডের মাধ্যমে মহাকাশে সেলফোনের টাওয়ার বসিয়ে স্যাটেলাইট টু সেলুলার পরিষেবা চালু করার পথে স্টারলিঙ্ক। খুব সহজভাবে বললে, স্পেস এক্সের এমন এক স্যাটেলাইট মহাকাশে পাঠাচ্ছে, যা একেবারে সেল টাওয়ারের মত কাজ করবে। যেভাবে পৃথিবীতে মোবাইল ফোনে কথা বলা যায়, সেল টাওয়ারের মাধ্যমে, তেমনই সব কিছু ঠিক থাকলে খুব শীঘ্রই মহাকাশ থেকে সরাসরি কথা বলা যাবে।
