অল ইন্ডিয়া ফুটবল ফেডারেশন (এআইএফএফ)-এর আর্থিক নিষেধাজ্ঞার জেরে মহিলা ফুটবল দলের কাজকর্ম সাময়িক ভাবে বন্ধ রাখার কথা ঘোষণা করল ইন্ডিয়ান সুপার লিগের ক্লাব কেরল ব্লাস্টার্স। গত ৩ মার্চ বেঙ্গালুরুর বিরুদ্ধে আইএসএলের প্লে অফ ম্যাচে ছেড়ে চলে যাওয়ার জন্য ৪ কোটি টাকার জরিমানার বিরুদ্ধে কেরল ব্লাস্টার্স এফসির আবেদন শুক্রবার খারিজ করে দেয় এআইএফএফ। ৫ লক্ষ টাকা জরিমানা এবং ১০ ম্যাচের নিষেধাজ্ঞার বিরুদ্ধে ব্লাস্টার্স কোচ ইভান ভুকোমানোভিচের আবেদনও খারিজ করে দিয়েছে ফেডারেশন। সর্বভারতীয় ফুটবলের এই সিদ্ধান্তের কয়েক দিন পরই কেরল ব্লাস্টার্স তাদের মহিলা দলের কার্যক্রম বন্ধ রাখার বিষয়ে বিবৃতি জারি করে। ব্লাস্টার্সের পক্ষ থেকে আরও বলা হয়েছে, যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত বিষয়টি পুরোপুরি পরিষ্কার না হয়, ততক্ষণ পর্যন্ত তারা মহিলা দলের কার্যক্রম চালিয়ে যেতে পারবে না।
