পশ্চিমবঙ্গে প্রদর্শিত হবে না দ্য কেরালা স্টোরি (The Kerala Story)। মঙ্গলবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের এই ঘোষণার পর তার বিরোধিতা করলেন চলচ্চিত্র পরিচালক অশোক পন্ডিত। তিনি বলেন, দ্য কেরালা স্টোরি যেভাবে বাংলায় নিষিদ্ধ করা হচ্ছে, তার প্রতিবাদ তিনি করছেন। তিনি আরও বলেন, বাকস্বাধীনতার ক্ষেত্রে এই সিদ্ধান্ত অত্যন্ত ক্ষতিকর। দ্য কেরালা স্টোরি যেভাবে নিষিদ্ধ করা হচ্ছে বাংলায়, তা গোটা দেশের সামনে ভুল বার্তা দেবে বলে মনে করেন চলচ্চিত্র পরিচালক অশোক পন্ডিত।
