প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিং এর সভাপতিত্বে ভারতীয় নৌবাহিনী আজ বিশাখাপত্তনম নৌ ঘাঁটিতে অত্যাধুনিক স্টেলথ ফ্রিগেট , যুদ্ধজাহাজ 'উদয়গিরি' ও 'হিমগিরি'-কে নৌবাহিনী তে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করবে। মুম্বাইয়ের মাজাগাঁও ডক শিপবিল্ডার্স লিমিটেড দ্বারা নির্মিত উদয়গিরি এবং কলকাতার গার্ডেন রিচ শিপবিল্ডার্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স দ্বারা নির্মিত হিমগিরি দেশের ক্রমবর্ধমান জাহাজ নির্মাণ দক্ষতা এবং ভারতের প্রধান প্রতিরক্ষা শিপইয়ার্ডগুলির মধ্যে সমন্বয়ের এক উজ্জ্বল দৃষ্টান্ত ।প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রক জানিয়েছে, এই দুটি জাহাজের নকশা, স্টিলথ, অস্ত্র এবং সেন্সর সিস্টেমে উল্লেখযোগ্য উন্নতি রয়েছে এবং ব্লু ওয়াটার পরিস্থিতিতে সামুদ্রিক মিশনের একটি সম্পূর্ণ পরিসর সম্পাদন করতে সক্ষম।পাশাপাশি উদয়গিরি এবং হিমগিরি কমিশনিং নৌবাহিনীর যুদ্ধ প্রস্তুতি বৃদ্ধি করবে এবং যুদ্ধজাহাজের নকশা ও নির্মাণে স্বনির্ভরতা অর্জনের ভারতের সংকল্পকে পুনর্ব্যক্ত করবে।
