বাড়ি, ঘর থেকে রাস্তাঘাট, উত্তরবঙ্গ (North Bengal Flood) ভাঙতে শুরু করেছে। প্রচণ্ড বৃষ্টি এবং বন্যায় যেমন ভেঙে পড়তে শুরু করেছে উত্তরবঙ্গ, তার জেরে ভয়াবহ পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়েছে। দার্জিলিং থেকে জলপাইগুড়ি, আলিপুরদুয়ার, কালিম্পংয়ে সব ধুয়ে মুছে যেতে শুরু করেছে। শনিবার রাত থেকে তিস্তা (Teesta River) ভয়াবহ আকার নিতে শুরু করেছে। তিস্তার পাশাপাশি তোর্সাও ফুঁসতে শুরু করেছে। ফলে তিস্তার পাড়ে থাকা বাড়ি, ঘর খেলনার মত ভাঙতে শুরু করেছে। তিস্তার ভয়াবহ বন্যার সঙ্গে ধসের জেরে উত্তরবঙ্গের মানুষের জীবনে কার্যত বিপর্যয় নেমে আসতে শুরু করেছে। সেই সঙ্গে শুরু হয়েছে একের পর এক মৃত্য়ুর পালা।

Heavy rainfall has led to Terrible floods & landslides in North Bengal area especially Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling & Kalimpong. There have been deaths, and loss of properties, and damages to the infrastructure.
