Statue of Lady Justice: ন্যায়ের মূর্তি আর অন্ধ নয়, খুলে দেওয়া হল লেডি জাস্টিসের চোখের পট্টি
প্রধান বিচারপতি ডি ওয়াই চন্দ্রচূড়ের নির্দেশে সুপ্রিম কোর্টে লেডি জাস্টিসের মূর্তি বদলে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
নয়াদিল্লি: ন্যায়ের মূর্তি হিসেবে ভারতে এতদিন চোখে পট্টি বাঁধা লেডি জাস্টিসের (Lady Justice) যে মূর্তি দেখা যেত তা এবার বদলে গেল। সুপ্রিম কোর্টের (Supreme Court) নতুন লেডি জাস্টিসের মূর্তির চোখে পট্টি খুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে, তরোয়ালের বদলে হাতে সংবিধান। আগের মূর্তিতে লেডি জাস্টিসের এক হাতে দাঁড়িপাল্লা আর অন্য হাতে তরোয়াল ছিল। তবে ন্যায়মূর্তির ডান হাতে আগে যেমন দাঁড়িপাল্লা ছিল, তা নতুন মূর্তিতেও রয়েছে। এর বদল ঘটেনি। ন্যায়মূর্তির হাতে দাঁড়িপাল্লা রাখা হয় যুক্তির তুল্যমূল্য বিচার বোঝাতে।
সূত্রে খবর, প্রধান বিচারপতি ডিওয়াই চন্দ্রচূড়ের (Chief Justice DY Chandrachud) নির্দেশেই সুপ্রিম কোর্টে লেডি জাস্টিসের মূর্তি বদলে দেওয়া হয়েছে । চোখের বাঁধন খোলার পাশাপাশি মূর্তিতে সংবিধান রাখার ভাবনাও তাঁরই। দেখুন-
