Jagdeep Dhankhar Elected Vice President: মার্গারেট আলভাকে ৩৪৬ ভোটে হারিয়ে দেশের নতুন উপ রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচিত জগদীপ ধনখড়
প্রতিপক্ষ মার্গারেট আলভাকে (Margaret Alva) ৩৪৬ ভোটে হারিয়ে দেশের নতুন উপ রাষ্ট্রপতি (Vice President of India) নির্বাচিত হলেন জগদীপ ধনখড় (Jagdeep Dhankar)। লোকসভার মহাসচিব উৎপল কুমার সিং বলেছেন, লোকসভা ও রাজ্যসভার মোট ৭৮০ জন সাংসদের মধ্যে ৭২৫ জন ভোট দিয়েছেন। ১৫টি ভোট বাতিল হয়েছে। এনডিএ প্রার্থী জগদীপ ধনখড় ৩৪৬ ভোটে জিতেছেন। কারণ তিনি প্রদত্ত মোট ৭২৫ ভোটের মধ্যে ৫২৮টি ভোট পেয়েছেন। বিরোধী প্রার্থী মার্গারেট আলভা ১৮২টি ভোট পেয়েছেন।
