India-Bhutan Rail Links: আসাম ও পশ্চিমবঙ্গকে সংযুক্ত করার জন্য দুটি আন্তঃসীমান্ত রেল যোগাযোগ স্থাপন করবে ভারত ও ভুটান, জানালেন কেন্দ্রীয় রেলমন্ত্রী অশ্বিনী বৈষ্ণব
ভারত ও ভুটান, কোকরাঝার-গেলেফু এবং বানারহাট-সামৎসের মধ্যে দুটি আন্তঃসীমান্ত রেল যোগাযোগ স্থাপনে সম্মত হয়েছে। ভুটানের সঙ্গে রেল প্রকল্প সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত জানিয়ে কেন্দ্রীয় রেলমন্ত্রী অশ্বিনী বৈষ্ণব বলেন যে এই প্রকল্পটি ভুটানের দুটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শহর, গেলফু এবং সামৎসেকে যুক্ত করছে।
তিনি বলেন, এই দুটি প্রকল্প কোকরাঝার এবং বানারহাটে ভারতীয় রেল নেটওয়ার্ক থেকে শুরু হবে। শ্রী বৈষ্ণব বলেন প্রায় চার হাজার ৩৩ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ৯০ কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ রেলপথটি নির্মাণ করা হবে। কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী জোর দিয়ে বলেন যে ভুটানের অর্থনীতির বিকাশের জন্য নিরবচ্ছিন্ন রেল যোগাযোগ থাকা খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে বিদেশ সচিব বিক্রম মিশ্রী বলেন যে এটি হবে ভারত ও ভুটানের মধ্যে রেল সংযোগ প্রকল্পের প্রথম ধাপ। তিনি বলেন যে এই রেল সংযোগের সমঝোতা স্মারকটি গত বছর প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীর ভুটান সফরের সময় স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছিল।
