পাটনার বখতিয়ারের একটি বুথে ভোট দিলেন বিহারের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তথা জেডিইউ নেতা নীতীশ কুমার। ভোট দেওয়ার পর উৎসাহিত করেন নীতীশ। তিনি লেখেন, “গণতন্ত্রে ভোটদান কেবল আমাদের অধিকারই নয়, এটা আমাদের দায়িত্বও বটে।" তিনি আরও জানান, "আজ বিহারের বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে প্রথম পর্যায়ের ভোটগ্রহণ চলছে। সব ভোটারের কাছে আমার আবেদন, আপনারা নিজেদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করুন। অন্যদেরও ভোটদানে উৎসাহিত করুন।”
