ভয়াবহ বন্যার জেরে লিবিয়ায় প্রায় ৫,৩০০ মানুষের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এমনই তথ্য উঠে আসে বৃহস্পতিবার একাধিক সংবাদমাধ্যমের তরফে। ভয়াবহ বন্যার জেরে লিবিয়ার ডেরনা শহর যখন প্রায় ধ্বংসস্তবপে পরিণত হয়েছে, সেখানে নিখোঁজ ১০ হাজার। সেই সঙ্গে হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষজন ঘরবাড়ি ছেড়ে অন্যত্র চলে যেতে বাধ্য হয়েছেন বলে খবর। বন্যার জেরে যখন সর্বনাশ নেমে এসেছে লিবিয়ায়, সেই সময় যাতে আন্তর্জাতিক সাহায্য আসে, সেই আবেদন করা হয় আফ্রিকার এই দেশের তরফে। প্রসঙ্গত ভয়াবহ বন্যার জেরে লিবিয়ার ডেরনা শহরের পরিস্থিতি সবচেয়ে খারাপ। ডেরনা শহরের একাংশ ধুয়েমুছে গিয়েছে। পাশাপাশি ভয়াবহ পরিস্থিতির জেরে বন্যার জলে মৃতদেহ ভেসে সমদ্রে গিয়ে পড়তে শুরু করেছে।
