জাপানে এখন ডিমের বাজারে আগুন! দেশজুড়ে বাড়ছে বার্ড ফ্লু। আর তাই কোনওরকম ঝুঁকি না নিয়ে সংক্রমণ রুখতে মেরে ফেলা হচ্ছে মুরগী। দেড় কোটির বেশী মুরগী মেরে ফেলে দেওয়া হয়েছে বলে খবর। এর প্রভাব সরাসরি পড়েছে ডিমের বাজারে। আম জাপানীদের অত্যন্ত পছন্দের খাবার হল ডিম। ডিমের বাহারী পদের জন্য জাপানীদের সুনাম বিশ্বজুড়ে।
জাপানে একসঙ্গে ডজন ডিম কিনলে একটা ডিমের দাম নেওয়া হচ্ছে ভারতীয় মুদ্রায় প্রায় ১৬৫ টাকা (২ মার্কিন ডলার) করে। ডিমের দাম শুনে জাপানীদের কপালে হাত।
