নববর্ষের দিনও বাংলার বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে গিয়ে ভোটপ্রচার করছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় (Mamata Banerjee)। রবিবার জলপাইগুড়ির চালসাতে পদযাত্রায় যোগ দেন তিনি। তারপর আদিবাসী মহিলাদের সঙ্গে নাচেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। প্রসঙ্গত, এই বছর থেকেই প্রথমবার পয়লা বৈশাখের দিন পশ্চিমবঙ্গ দিবস পালন করার ঘোষণা করেছিল তৃণমূল সরকার। তবে এই নিয়ে নীরব থাকেনি বিরোধীরাও। বিজেপির দাবি, ২০ জুনকেই পশ্চিমবঙ্গ দিবস হিসেবে মান্যতা দিতে হবে।
