উল্টোদিকের প্রতিপক্ষ ৫ বারের সাংসদ। ফলে জোর টক্কর হবেই তা আন্দাজ করাই যাচ্ছে। কিন্তু এবারে বিদায়ী সাংসদ সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে (Sudip Banerjee) একচুলও জমি ছাড়তে রাজি নন উত্তর কলকাতার বিজেপি প্রার্থী তাপস রায় (Tapas Roy)। আর তাই বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল থেকেই প্রচারে বেরিয়ে পড়েছেন তিনি। পাশে রয়েছেন উত্তর কলকাতার বিজেপি সভাপতি তমোঘ্ন ঘোষ। প্রার্থী তালিকায় নাম ঘোষণা হওয়ার পর থেকেই উত্তর কলকাতার অলিগতিতে প্রচার করছেন তাপস রায়। প্রচার শেষে তৃণমূলের বিদায়ী সাংসদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, এই ৫ বছরের উনি শুধু সংবাদপত্রেই মুখ দেখিয়েছেন। ভোট আসতেই বেরিয়ে পড়েছেন প্রচারে।
