এবার মালয়েশিয়ান ওপেনেও প্রথম রাউন্ডে হেরে ছিটকে গেলেন ভারতের ব্যাডমিন্টন তারকা সাইনা নেহওয়াল (Saina Nehwal)। বিশ্ব ক্রম তালিকায় ১১ নম্বরে থাকা চিনের হ্যান উইয়ের কাছে সাইনা হারলেন ১২-২১, ২১-১৭, ১২-২১। লড়াই করলেও ফিটনেসের ঘাটতি চোখে পড়ল সাইনার। এই নিয়ে টানা পাঁচটা টুর্নামেন্টের প্রথম রাউন্ডে বিদায় নিলেন বিশ্ব ব়্যাঙ্কিংয়ে ৩০ নম্বরে থাকা সাইনা।
২০১২ লন্ডন অলিম্পিকে পদক জয়ী সাইনা অবশ্য এরপরেও হাল না ছেড়ে পরের টুর্নামেন্টে বড় কিছু করতে চান বলে জানালেন। আগামিকাল, মালয়েশিয়া ওপেনের প্রথম রাউন্ডে ডেনমার্কের ক্যারোলাইনল মারিনের বিরুদ্ধে নামছেন পিভি সিন্ধু।
