মর্যাদাপূর্ণ মেরিলেবোন ক্রিকেট ক্লাবের সাম্মানিক আজীবন সদস্যপদ পেলেন প্রাক্তন ভারত অধিনায়ক এমএস ধোনি, তাঁর সতীর্থ সুরেশ রায়না ও যুবরাজ সিং। মহিলা ক্রিকেটার মিতালি রাজ ও ঝুলন গোস্বামীকেও দেওয়া হয়েছে এই সদস্যপদ। এমএস ধোনি ও যুবরাজ সিং উভয়ই ২০০৭ সালের আইসিসি পুরুষ টি-২০ বিশ্বকাপ ও ২০১১ সালের আইসিসি পুরুষ বিশ্বকাপ জয়ী ভারতীয় দলের অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ ছিলেন, এবং সুরেশ রায়না ১৩ বছরের কেরিয়ারে ৫৫০০ এরও বেশি একদিবসীয় ক্রিকেটে রান করেছিলেন। ইংল্যান্ডের বিশ্বকাপজয়ী অধিনায়ক ইয়ন মর্গ্যান ও কেভিন পিটারসেন, দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার ডেল স্টেইন ও নিউজিল্যান্ডের রস টেইলরকেও সম্মানসূচক আজীবন সদস্য হিসেবে বেছে নিয়েছেন ক্রিকেটের নিয়মের রক্ষকরা।
