প্রতি বছর গ্রীষ্মকাল শুরুর আগে তামিলনাড়ু-র মাদুরাই জেলায় পালিত হয় মাছ উৎসব। গ্রীষ্ম শুরুর মুখে রাজ্যের মূলত গ্রামাঞ্চলে এই মাছ উৎসব পালনের পিছনে রয়েছে নানা পৌরানিক কাহিনি, বিশ্বাস।
প্রতি বছর গ্রীষ্মকাল শুরুর আগে তামিলনাড়ু-র মাদুরাই জেলায় পালিত হয় মাছ উৎসব। গ্রীষ্ম শুরুর মুখে রাজ্যের মূলত গ্রামাঞ্চলে এই মাছ উৎসব পালনের পিছনে রয়েছে নানা পৌরানিক কাহিনি, বিশ্বাস। আজও এই উৎসব সমস্ত রীতি মেনেই পালন করা হয়। দিঘী, পুকুর, ডোবা বা জলাশয়ে নেমে এই উৎসবের রীতি মেনে মাছ ধরেন সবাই। মাছ উৎসবে বড় জলাশয়ের সামনে মাছ ধরার ঢল দেখা গেল।
