২০২০ সালেই শ্রদ্ধাকে নিয়ে তাঁরা থানায় যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করেন। আফতাব যেভাবে শ্রদ্ধার উপর অত্যাচর চালাত, মারধর করত, তা দেখে বন্ধুকে নিয়ে থানার যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন ওয়ালকরের কয়েকজন বন্ধু। প্রথমে রাজি হলেও, শেষ পর্যন্ত থানায় গিয়ে অভিযোগ দায়ের করতে পিছিয়ে যান শ্রদ্ধা। তিনি বলেন, সম্পর্কে থাকতে গেলে, এমন ঘটনা ঘটেই থাকে। তাই এসব নিয়ে ভাবার প্রয়োজন নেই বলে বন্ধুদের জানান শ্রদ্ধা। শ্রদ্ধা ওয়ালকর খুনে গত শনিবার আফতাব পুনাওয়ালার গ্রেফতারির পর মুখ খুললেন রাহুল রাই। শ্রদ্ধার বন্ধু রাহুল জানান, ২০২০ সালে তাঁরা চেষ্টা করেছিলেন, আফতাবের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ দায়ের করতে কিন্তু বাধা দেন শ্রদ্ধা। ফলে ২০২০ সালে শ্রদ্ধাকে নিয়ে তাঁর বন্ধুরা আফতাবের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ দায়ের করতে থানায় যেতে পারেননি বলে জানান রাহুল।
