তামিলনাড়ু রামেশ্বরমে অগ্নি থেরথাম ঘাটে হাজার হাজার মানুষ এসে ভিড় করেছে। নিজের পূর্বপুরুষদের উদ্দেশ্যে জল নিবেদন করতে। কথিত আছে, মৃত পূর্বপুরুষদের আত্মার শান্তির জন্যে তর্পণ করা হয়ে থাকে।
পিতৃপক্ষের অবসান। দেবীপক্ষের সূচনা। আজ মহালয়া (Mahalaya 2023)। এদিন ভোর থেকেই রাজ্য এবং রাজ্যের বাইরে বিভিন্ন ঘাটে ঘাটে চলছে তর্পণ অনুষ্ঠান।তামিলনাড়ু রামেশ্বরমে অগ্নি থেরথাম ঘাটে হাজার হাজার মানুষ এসে ভিড় করেছে। নিজের পূর্বপুরুষদের উদ্দেশ্যে জল নিবেদন করতে। কথিত আছে, মৃত পূর্বপুরুষদের আত্মার শান্তির জন্যে তর্পণ করা হয়ে থাকে। বাঙালিরা যাকে তর্পণ ক্রিয়া বলে থাকেন, দক্ষণ ভারতে তা 'পিত্রু কর্ম পূজা' নামে অভিহিত।
