স্বাধীনতা দিবসের প্রাক্কালে বৃহস্পতিবার (Independence Day run event )অংশ নিয়েছেন ছত্তিশগড়ের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিষ্ণুদেও সাই। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সাই-এর নেতৃত্বে হাতে তিরঙ্গা নিয়ে এই অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নেন অসংখ্য মানুষ। ছত্তিশগড়ের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিষ্ণুদেও সাই বলেছেন, "রায়পুরের তেলিবান্ধা চক থেকে ভারত মাতা চক পর্যন্ত স্বাধীনতা দিবসের দৌড়ের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। ১৫ আগস্টের আগে আমি সকল নাগরিককে আমার শুভেচ্ছা জানাচ্ছি। 'তিরঙ্গা' আমাদের গর্ব।" ছত্তিশগড়ের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিষ্ণুদেও সাই আরও বলেন, "এই যাত্রা আমাদের ঐক্য ও শক্তির প্রতীক। অনেক কষ্ট ও ত্যাগের পর আমরা স্বাধীনতা অর্জন করেছি। 'তিরঙ্গা' আমাদের গর্ব।"
