নয়াদিল্লি: ভাদ্রপদ মাসের শুক্লপক্ষের ষষ্ঠী তিথিতে উত্তরপ্রদেশের বারাণসী (Varanasi) শহরের লোলার্ক কুণ্ডে (Lolark Kund) পবিত্র স্নানের জন্য বিশাল ভক্তের ভিড় জমেছে। এই দিনটি ‘লোলার্ক ষষ্ঠী’ বা ‘সূর্য ষষ্ঠী’ নামে পরিচিত, যা সূর্য দেবতার উদ্দেশ্যে উৎসর্গীকৃত একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হিন্দু উৎসব।
নয়াদিল্লি: লোলার্ক কুণ্ড বারাণসীর প্রাচীনতম পবিত্র স্থানগুলির একটি। এটি গঙ্গা এবং আসি নদীর সংযোগস্থলের কাছে অবস্থিত। কুণ্ডটি একটি গভীর স্তম্ভকূপ (stepwell), যার গভীরতা প্রায় ১৫ মিটার এবং চারপাশে খাড়া সিঁড়ি রয়েছে। ‘লোলার্ক’ (Lolark)-র ‘লোল’ অর্থ কম্পিত এবং ‘আর্ক’ অর্থ সূর্য। এটি কুণ্ডের জলে সূর্যের প্রতিফলনকে নির্দেশ করে, যেন সূর্য কাঁপছে। এটি মহাভারত এবং স্কন্দ পুরাণের কাশী খণ্ডে উল্লেখ রয়েছে। গাহাড়বাল রাজাদের আমলে এখানে স্নান এবং দানের প্রচলন ছিল। প্রতি বছর এইদিনে সূর্যোদয়ের সময় লক্ষাধিক ভক্ত এখানে জড়ো হন। আরও পড়ুন: Viral Sky Moment: ঠিক সন্ধে নামার আগে, রামধনু ঘিরে ফেলল চাঁদকে, দেখুন সেই অলৌকিক দৃশ্য
