সমতলে এখনও সেভাবে জাকিয়ে শীত পড়েনি। নভেম্বরের শেষলগ্নে এসেও এখনও সূর্য মাথার ওপরে থাকলে হালকা করে ঘাম ঝড়ছেই। কিন্তু উপত্যকার অবস্থা কিন্তু সেরকম নয়। নভেম্বরের শেষেই জম্মু-কাশ্মীর হয়ে উঠল শ্বেতবর্ণ। ভূ-স্বর্গ ফিরল চেনা পোশাকে। রবিবার সকাল থেকই (Sonamarg) শুরু হয়েছে স্নো-ফল। আর সেই কারণে পাহাড়, রাস্তাঘাটে ভড়ে গিয়েছে বরফ। নভেম্বর শেষ হলেই শুরু হবে বর্ষশেষের উৎযাপন। ফলে আশা করাই যায় যে ২৪-এর ডিসেম্বর থেকেই পর্যটকদের ভিড় দেখা যাবে ভ্যালিতে। আর সেইদিকেই তাকিয়ে আছেন জম্মু-কাশ্মীরের পর্যটন ব্যবসার সঙ্গে যুক্ত মানুষেরা।
