Jalpaiguri Strom: ঝড়ে লণ্ডভণ্ড জলপাইগুড়ি, ৪ জন নিহত, ১০০ জনেরও বেশি আহত
জলপাইগুড়ি জেলার কিছু অংশে প্রবল ঝড়ের আঘাতে চারজন নিহত এবং ১০০ জনেরও বেশি আহত হয়েছেন।
নয়াদিল্লি: ঝড়ে লণ্ডভণ্ড জলপাইগুড়ি (Jalpaiguri)। রবিবার জলপাইগুড়ি জেলার কিছু অংশে প্রবল ঝড়ের আঘাতে চারজন নিহত এবং ১০০ জনেরও বেশি আহত হয়েছেন। প্রবল ঝড়ের সঙ্গে বজ্রবিদ্যুৎ এবং শিলাবৃষ্টির কারণে সবচেয়ে বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে ময়নাগুড়ির (Maynaguri) বিস্তীর্ণ এলাকা। বেশকিছু বাড়ি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে, গাছ এবং বৈদ্যুতিক খুঁটি উপড়ে পড়েছে। ময়নাগুড়ির পাশাপাশি রাজারহাট, বার্নিশ, বাকালি, জোরপাকডি, মাধবডাঙ্গা এবং সাপ্তিবাড়ি এলাকায় ব্যপক ক্ষতি হয়েছে। ঘটনায় শোক প্রকাশ করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। দুর্ঘটনা এড়াতে পুরো জেলায় বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
