ঝড়-বৃষ্টিতে বিপর্যস্ত হয়ে পড়ল বাণিজ্যনগরী মুম্বই। মঙ্গলবার সন্ধ্যায় মুম্বইয়ে ভারী বৃষ্টিপাত ও তীব্র বাতাসের ফলে ২৯টি গাছ ভেঙে পড়ে এবং দু'জন আহত হয়েছেন। বুধবার দমকলের পক্ষ থেকে এমনটাই জানানো হয়েছে। একটি স্থানে একটি বাড়ির একাংশ ভেঙে পড়ে, তবে কোনও হতাহতের ঘটনা ঘটেনি। ১৮টি স্থানে আগুন লেগেছে, তবে কোনও হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।

মঙ্গলবার মুম্বই ও পুণে-সহ মহারাষ্ট্রের বেশ কিছু অংশে বজ্রবিদ্যুৎ-সহ ভারী বৃষ্টি এবং ঝড়ের তাণ্ডব চলে। তাতে গ্রীষ্মের তীব্র দাবদাহ থেকে সাময়িক মুক্তি মিলেছে বটে, কিন্তু জল জমে গিয়ে বন্ধ হয়ে যায় একাধিক রাস্তা। যানজটের জেরে ভুগতে হয় নিত্যযাত্রীদের। মহারাষ্ট্রে আগামী চার দিন একই রকম আবহাওয়া থাকবে। জারি হয়েছে হলুদ এবং কমলা সতর্কতা। মঙ্গলবার সন্ধ্যা থেকে ভারী বৃষ্টির জেরে মুম্বইয়ের পোওয়াইয়ের মতো জনবহুল এলাকায় যান চলাচল প্রায় বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। প্রবল বৃষ্টির জেরে ডুবে যায় আন্ধেরি সাবওয়ে।
