১৪ ফেব্রুয়ারি কাউ হাগ ডে (Cow Hug Day) অর্থাৎ গরুকে আলিঙ্গন দিবস হিসেবে পালনের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় ভারতের অ্যানিম্যাল ওয়েলফেয়ার বোর্ড। প্রেম দিবসে অর্থাৎ ১৪ ফেব্রুয়ারি গরুকে আলিঙ্গন নিয়ে যখন জোর তোলপাড় শুরু হয়ে যায় গোটা দেশ জুড়ে, সেই সময় এই আবেদন প্রত্যাহার করা হল অ্যানিম্যাল ওয়েলফেয়ার বোর্ডের তরফে।
