মাস তিনেক আগে শ্রীনগরে ভারত জোড়ো যাত্রায় করা মন্তব্যের জেরে এদিন রাহুল গান্ধীর বাড়িতে হানা দেয় পুলিশ। রাহুল বলেছিলেন, ভারত জোড়ো যাত্রা চলাকালীন কয়েকজন মহিলা তাঁকে জানিয়েছিলেন, তাঁরা ধর্ষণ, যৌন নিগ্রহের শিকার হলেও পুলিশের কাছে জানাতে চান না। এই বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত জানতে দিল্লি পুলিশের কর্তারা রাহুলের বাড়িতে যান।
রাহুলের বাড়িতে পুলিশি হানা নিয়ে দিল্লিতে বড় বিক্ষোভ, প্রতিবাদ দেখালেন যুব কংগ্রেস কর্মীরা। বর্ষীয়াণ কংগ্রেস নেতা তথা রাজস্থানের মুখ্য়মন্ত্রী অশোক গেহলট এর জন্য অমিত শাহকে দায়ি করে বলেন, " অমিত শাহর নির্দেশ ছাড়া জাতীয় স্তরের একজন নেতার বাড়িতে পুলিশ এভাবে যেতে পারে না। রাহুল আগেই বলেছিলেন তিনি নোটিশ পেয়েছেন, জবাব দেবেন। কিন্তু তার আগেই পুলিশ তাঁর বাড়িতে চলে গেল।"
