জগন্নাথ, বলরাম ও সুভদ্রা যে রথে চড়ে মাসীর বাড়ি যাবেন, সেই রথ তিনটি নির্মাণের কাজ শুরু হয় অক্ষয় তৃতীয়া থেকেই। এই মহৎ সূচনাকে মাথায় রেখে ওড়িশাবাসীকে শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী।
আজ অক্ষয় তৃতীয়া, হিন্দুধর্মে অক্ষয় তৃতীয়া দিনটি অত্যন্ত মাহাত্ম্যপূর্ণ। যে কোনও নতুন কাজ শুরু করার জন্য সারা বছরের মধ্যে অক্ষয় তৃতীয়া সবথেকে উপযুক্ত। পুরীরে রথযাত্রার প্রস্তুতিও শুরু হয় এই দিন থেকেই। জগন্নাথ, বলরাম ও সুভদ্রা যে রথে চড়ে মাসীর বাড়ি যাবেন, সেই রথ তিনটি নির্মাণের কাজ শুরু হয় অক্ষয় তৃতীয়া থেকেই। এই মহৎ সূচনাকে মাথায় রেখে ওড়িশাবাসীকে শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী। এক্স হ্যান্ডেলের একটি পোস্টে তিনি লেখেন-
ওড়িশায় এবং মহান ওড়িয়া সংস্কৃতির জন্য একটি অত্যন্ত শুভ দিন অক্ষয় তৃতীয়া। এই দিনেই মহাপ্রভু শ্রী জগন্নাথের রথযাত্রার জন্য রথ তৈরির কাজ শুরু হয়। এটি আখি মুথি অনুকুলের সাথেও ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে জড়িত, যখন কৃষকরা বীজ বপন শুরু করে। মহাপ্রভু শ্রী জগন্নাথের আশীর্বাদ সর্বদা আমাদের উপর থাকুক।
