পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের ভূপতিনগরে এনআইএ-এর ওপর হামলার ঘটনায় কড়া নিন্দা করলেন কংগ্রেস সাংসদ অধীর রঞ্জন চৌধুরী। তাঁর মতে, এনআইএ আধিকারিকদের ওপর যা ঘটেছে তা অত্যন্ত নিন্দাজনক। তবে কেন্দ্রীয় এজেন্সি ওপর রাজনৈতিক প্রভাব নিয়ে বিজেপি সরকারের সমালোচনাও করেন তিনি। অধীরের মতে, হেমন্ত সোরেন, অরবিন্দ কেজরিওয়াল সহ বিরোধীদের আটকানোর জন্য কেন্দ্রীয় এজেন্সির ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে। তবে এইভাবে তাঁদের ওপর হামলা না করে আদালতের দারস্থ হওয়া উচিত। পাশাপাশি এই ঘটনায় স্থানীয় পুলিশে নিস্ক্রিয়তারও অভিযোগ তোলেন কংগ্রেস নেতা।
