মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এবং ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন একটি সর্বাঙ্গীণ বাণিজ্য চুক্তি (US-EU Trade Deal) চূড়ান্ত করেছে । এর ফলে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ইইউ গোষ্ঠীভুক্ত দেশগুলির পণ্যের উপর ১৫ শতাংশ শুল্ক আরোপ করা হবে। মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্প এবং ইইউ প্রধান উরসুলা ফন ডেয়ার লেয়ান (EU chief Ursula von der Leyen ) জানান, আটলান্টিক মহাসাগরের উভয় প্রান্তে শুল্ক সংক্রান্ত অচলাবস্থা দুর করতে এবং বাণিজ্য যুদ্ধ এড়াতে একটি চুক্তিতে সম্মত হয়েছেন তাঁরা। এই চুক্তির বিষয়ে এমন এক সময়ে সহমতে পৌঁছানো সম্ভব হল যখন ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়নের পণ্যসামগ্রীকে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ৩০ শতাংশ শুল্কের মুখোমুখি হতে হবে। ট্রাম্প জানান ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র থেকে ৭৫ হাজার কোটি ডলার মূল্যের জ্বালানী কিনতে সম্মত হয়েছে। এ ছাড়াও অতিরিক্ত ৬০ হাজার কোটি ডলার EU, মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে বিনিয়োগ করতেও সম্মত হয়েছে।
