শ্রীলঙ্কায় (Sri Lanka) চরম অর্থনৈতিক সঙ্কট চলছে। চাল থেকে চিনি কিংবা জীবনদায়ী ওষুধ, দ্বীপরাষ্ট্রে সাধারণ মানুষের নাগালের বাইরে প্রায় সব জিনিস। শ্রীলঙ্কার রাজধানী কলম্বোয় আপেল (Apple) বিক্রি হচ্ছে ১ হাজার টাকা কেজি দরে। গত ৩-৪ মাসে আগে কলম্বোয় আপেলের দাম ছিল ৫০০ টাকা কেজি। অন্যদিকে কলম্বোয় পেয়ারা বিক্রি হচ্ছে ১৫০০ টাকা কেজি দরে। ৩-৪ মাস আহগে পেয়ারার দাম ছিল কেজি প্রতি ৭০০ টাকা। সবকিছু মিলিয়ে শ্রীলঙ্কার অবস্থা ক্রমশ খারাপ হচ্ছে দিনের পর দিন ধরে।
