নতুন প্রধানমন্ত্রী আহমেদ আবদুল্লা ১৯৯৯ থেকে ২০০৫ সাল পর্যন্ত অর্থ ও যোগাযোগ মন্ত্রী এবং ২০০৬ সাল থেকে ১১ পর্যন্ত স্বাস্থ্য, তেল এবং তথ্য মন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব সামলেছেন।
কুয়েতের নতুন প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব পেলেন আহমেদ আবদুল্লা আল আহমেদ আল সাবা। প্রাক্তন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ মোহাম্মেদ সাবা আল সালেম আল সাবা, সরকার গঠনের পর ৭ই এপ্রিল পদত্যাগ করেন। এরপর নতুন সংসদ নির্বাচিত হলে কুয়েতের আমির, আহমেদ আবদুল্লার ওপর প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব ন্যস্ত করেন। আহমেদ আবদুল্লার ১৯৯৯ থেকে ২০০৫ সাল পর্যন্ত অর্থ ও যোগাযোগ মন্ত্রী এবং ২০০৬ সাল থেকে ১১ পর্যন্ত স্বাস্থ্য, তেল এবং তথ্য মন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব সামলেছেন।
