কোভিড-পরবর্তী পরিস্থিতিতে ভারত-সহ বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে যাওয়ার প্রবণতা লক্ষ্যণীয়ভাবে বেড়েছে। শুক্রবার ‘ইউএস হোমল্যান্ড সিকিউরিটি’ ( US Homeland Security) সূত্রে এ খবর সামনে এসেছে। মার্কিন নিরাপত্তা সূত্রের খবর, ২০১৩ সালে যেখানে ভারত থেকে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে গিয়েছিলেন প্রায় ১৫ লক্ষ জন, প্রতি বছর তা বাড়তে বাড়তে ২০১৯-এ হয় প্রায় ২৩ লক্ষ। কিন্তু কোভিডের জন্য ২০১৯-এ তা নেমে যায় ৫ লক্ষে। ২০২৩-এ সংখ্যাটা বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৩ লক্ষ। তার পরের হিসেব এখনও প্রকাশ করেনি ‘ইউএস হোমল্যান্ড সিকিউরিটি’। তবে সূত্রের খবর, সংখ্যাটা উল্লেখযোগ্য বেড়েছে।
