বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে কেঁপে উঠল ফিলিপিন্স। ফিলিপাইন ইনস্টিটিউট অব ভলকানোলজি অ্যান্ড সিসমোলজি এর তথ্য অনুসারে ফিলিপিন্সের দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের সুলতান কুদারাত প্রদেশে ৭.০ মাত্রার ভূমিকম্প আঘাত হেনেছে। সিনহুয়া নিউজ এজেন্সির সূত্র অনুসারে ইনস্টিটিউট জানিয়েছে যে স্থানীয় সময় সকাল ১০টা ১৩মিনিটে ভূমিকম্পটি ঘটে। ভূমিকম্পের কেন্দ্রস্থল ছিল ৭২২ কিলোমিটার গভীরে এবং উপকূলীয় শহর পালেমবাং থেকে প্রায় ১৩৩ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমে। এছাড়াও দেশটির দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম দ্বীপ মিন্দানাওয়ের নিকটবর্তী প্রদেশেও ভূমিকম্পের কম্পন অনুভূত হয়েছে। খবরে প্রকাশ দাভাও অক্সিডেন্টাল, দাভাও ওরিয়েন্টাল, সারাঙ্গানি, দাভাও দে ওরো, দাভাও দেল নর্তে এবং কোটাবাটোতেও কম্পন অনুভূত হয়েছে।
