এবার আওয়ামী লিগের (Awami League) সদর দফতরে আগুন ধরিয়ে দিল উত্তেজিত জনতা। শেখ হাসিনা (Sheikh Hasina) বাংলাদেশ (Bangladesh) ছাড়ার পরপরই রাজধানী শহর ঢাকায় আওয়ামী লিগের য সদর দফতর ছিল, সেখানে অগ্নিসংযোগ করা হয়। ফলে আওয়ামী লিগের অফিস থেকে মঙ্গলবার সকালেও আগুন এবং ধোঁয়া বের হতে শুরু করে। ছাত্র আন্দোলন যখন মাত্রাছাড়া আকার নেয়, সেই সময় সোমবার বাংলাদেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রী পদে ইস্তফা দেন শেখ হাসিনা। প্রধানমন্ত্রী পদে ইস্তফা দিয়ে কার্যত গোপণে দেশ ছাড়েন মুজিব-কন্যা। বাংলাদেশ ছাড়ার পর শেখ হাসিনার সেই চপার প্রবেশ করে ভারতে। দিল্লি (Delhi) লাগোয়া হিন্দন এয়ারবেসে (Hindon Airbase) আশ্রয় নেন বাংলাদেশের ক্ষমতাচ্যুত প্রধানমন্ত্রী।
